We'll start with the funnies: While watching 'The Muppet's Christmas Carol' the other night, Kaila looked at Scrooge's headmaster (the blue eagle muppet) and said "He has angry eyes."
We got Wii Fit Plus for Christmas and it has an option to create a profile for infants and pets, so we made one for Kade. It is so cute because his mii crawls in when you start up the game. Even better, though, whenever anyone does the body test, after it is done measuring the game says "All done." and Kade will repeat it back and say "all done." too. He has also said "Kaila" recently too.
The first thing Kaila noticed on Christmas morning.....not the presents.....she noticed that Santa had eaten the cookie, then she noticed "all the candy", then she noticed "oh presents!!".
Dave got 'The Sims 3' for Christmas (he actually won it in a contest from PC Gamer, but I put it into the present stash). He learned not to leave the game running when he has to step away from the computer for even just a few minutes, though, because Kaila LOVES this game too. Anyway, Dave stepped away for a few minutes leaving his sim sleeping peacefully, but when he came back his Sim was in the neighbors house making funny faces in a mirror at 2:45 am.
-------------------
Here's a few pictures of Dave's new car. He LOVES it and so do the rest of us especially Kaila because it is blue! It is a 2010 Honda Civic and eventhough we had decided not to EVER buy a brand new car, we bought it anyway because the pros outweighed the cons. It only had 3 miles on it, plus our test drive, when we bought it!! So weird.----------------------
Kaila and Rhylie had their dance recital on the 19th and both did wonderfully. You could even hear Kaila singing at the back of the auditorium. I know because Kade decided to throw a fit right before her dance, so I had to take him out into the foyer, and go back up the few stairs to poke my head in to watch her dance.-----------------
Kaila's birthday was a blast except for the last minute change of mind on what she wanted on her cake. I was still recovering from all the illnesses including my own, plus a super bad panic attack in the middle of the night before her birthday, so I just didn't know how I was going to make a cake, clean the house and get everything ready for the evening. Luckily Mom and Viv came to the rescue and picked up stuff at the store for me and helped clean up. Dave came home early from work to help out too. Anyway, Kaila said she wanted a Tinkerbell cake like Savannah (cousin) had had just 2 days previous. So I called around to 4 different stores and finally scored! Smith's bakery was kind enough to make one that day and had it ready by 5 in the afternoon. I was almost feeling normal by the time everyone arrived at 6:30. We even had a surprise guest.....my brother Michael from California. He is in a band and really good on the guitar.

Just a couple of fun pictures. The first one, well one almost like it, is actually on the KSL pictureline website and the second is how Dave found Kade sometime on Christmas Eve. If you look closely, you can see that Kade has his toothbrush in his hand.

Now for Christmas! We had a marvelous Christmas and the kids had a ton of fun with all of their new toys. Kade went straight for a Santa Claus present that contained a play tool set. He didn't want anything to do with opening the stuff out of his sock or anything after opening the tools, but we kept him going and with each new thing he just wanted to stop and play. The real show stopper for him, though, was a spiral racetrack. Kaila loved everything that everyone got and just kept getting distracted by each new thing.

Christmas at Mom's house was a lot of fun too! Ha ha! We only had to walk downstairs for all of the fun unwrapping festivities. Funny thing, though, Dave and I got Mom a double feature DVD with 'The Money Pit' and 'The Burbs' on it, and Santa at Mom's brought it to both us and Tyler and JoAnna. Here's a few pictures of all the craziness.

O.k. now for New Year's. We got Rock Band 2 for the Wii the day before New Year's Eve, so Rhylie, Dave and Kaila got to play it on New Year's eve, while I tried to put together Christmas casserole for breakfast the next morning in a hurry so we could play games with Bob and Viv. However, in the process of hurrying I tried to grate off my thumb knuckle and ended up out of commission on helping make the breakfast because I couldn't get my thumb to stop bleeding for a while. Viv had come down with a terrible cold the day after Christmas and was still feeling bad, so we only ended up playing one round of Guesstures with all of us before giving up at around 10 pm to put kids to bed and just relax the rest of the eve. Mom and Rhylie went down to watch Gilmore girls, and Dave and I eventually went down for a little while, but ended up ringing in the new year just before kissing each other goodnight and going to sleep, or rather attempting to go to sleep because we had numerous neighbors who decided to set off a TON of illegal fireworks. Here is a cute video of Kaila singing her favorite song from Rock Band 2.
